Sources for marketing and promotion help
Almost anyone who has had some
success in the direct marketing of books and newsletters has a favorite marketing guru or
two whose books have lent a helping hand at some critical time. Whether the struggle
was with the right copy approach, response analysis, or an effective follow-up
strategy, a few wise words made the difference between failure and success.
What follows is a few of the helping hands we, and several of our colleagues, have received over the years. Many of the books
listed may be long out of print. But a search of a good used book store might just
turn up a gem or two. They are not listed in any particular order, just how they
came off our shelves. If you have a favorite or two that deserves to be here, (we are sure
there are many), please send us a note and we'll include them.
Also listed are several organizations and periodicals you may want to consider checking
out.
